Corbin & I at Makeda Coffee Shop in the Greenwood neighborhood of Seattle for our joint art show and book signing in 2010.

Some of you may know that my dear friend Corbin — mom of two, author of two books, writing mentor, and overall amazing human being — has been in the thick of intense treatments for breast cancer. You may also know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. You put those two things together and you get…

A Virtual Art Sale for Breast Cancer!

This month I have been holding a virtual art sale of my original art and art products. 25% of proceeds from any purchase over $20 will go directly to Corbin to help support her during her very tiring (and expensive) treatments. Another 15% will go to The National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. to support breast cancer research efforts.

That’s right: I will be donating a fat 40% of all sales over $20 to a cause — and a person — dear to my heart.

There are just TWO WEEKS left in this virtual art sale and so I am putting all of my heart energy out in the world for a last push to make a difference in Corbin’s life — and to contribute to the continuing efforts to help solve many of the breast cancer medical puzzles.

Here are a few ways you can participate:

Buy some art!
You can easily do so by visiting my brand spankin’ new online art store here:

I’m selling both original art and art products and you get to choose whether you’d like to pick up your art items at my place in the Roosevelt District of Seattle or have me ship them to you. The interface of is super user-friendly and if you register an account with them you don’t have to enter your information every time you want to buy something. I will be updating the site with new products and art pieces as the month progresses, so you might want to visit a few times during October to check out what’s new!

Join the Facebook “Virtual Art Sale” page!
By “joining” this virtual event page, you have no obligation to buy anything, but you can get up-to-date information about the sale, learn more about Corbin, and put your good energy into a space that is all about healing and support. Here is a link to the Facebook event page:

And I want you to learn more about Corbin and her cancer journey so I thought I’d share a link to her Seattle P.I. blog here: Corbin’s authenticity, self-awareness, self-advocacy, mindfulness, and humor are all things I love about her — and are also attributes that shine through her writing.

Thank you for your support and I wish you all a heart-warming October.

peace and making a difference,

About Courtney Putnam

I first came to healing work through art and writing. Creating collage art and poetry in particular allowed me to deeply understand the benefit of self-expression in the healing process. But, I also began to see the benefit of bodywork (manual work in the form of massage and energywork in the form of Reiki) as keys to unlocking the emotional stresses we hold in our bodies. I became a Reiki practitioner in 2002, received an MFA in Creative Writing in 2003, received my massage license in the spring of 2006, and became a Reiki Master in 2010. In my practice I bring together these three areas -- the body, the mind, and the spirit (or energy body) -- so others may experience profound and positive change in their lives.
